For the third consecutive year, Nacon has been one of the major partners of the Ultimate Fighting Arena (UFA), the largest versus fighting tournament in Europe. The event has established itself as a key reference in the world of esports, bringing together players from around the globe to compete in the most popular fighting games.
A Competition of International Scope
UFA 2024 brought together a total of 2,432 registrants from 51 different countries, showcasing the diversity and global reach of the tournament. Players from all backgrounds gathered to face off in the biggest games of the versus fighting scene, including Street Fighter VI, Guilty Gear Strive, Tekken 8, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and many other iconic titles. The level of competition was particularly impressive this year, with 12 former EVO champions and 3 Red Bull Kumite champions (including Nacon ambassador Mister Crimson) among the participants.
In addition to the players, UFA also attracted 10,000 spectators on-site, eager to witness the most intense live battles.
Kayane: A Standout Performance in Tekken 8
One of the highlights of this edition was the performance of Kayane, one of France’s most prominent versus fighting figures. Armed with her Daija Arcade Stick, she shone in the Tekken 8 tournament, defeating several formidable opponents. However, her journey ended when she faced Tetsu from Germany, who finished 4th in the tournament. The title was claimed by ULSAN from Korea, who wowed the crowd with his powerful Dragunov, cementing his place as one of the best Tekken players in the world.
Mister Crimson: Top 17 in Street Fighter VI
On Street Fighter VI, Mister Crimson, equipped as always with his REVOLUTION 5 Pro, delivered a strong performance, finishing in the Top 17 of the tournament. The tournament was ultimately won by Kusanagi from France, who amazed spectators with his devastating Ryu. Kusanagi triumphed over Xiaohai from China and his fearsome Cammy in a thrilling final, reaffirming the strength of the French Street Fighter scene.
The International Teams Cup
This year, Nacon was not only a partner of UFA but also the main partner of one of the most anticipated events of the 2024 edition: the International Teams Cup on Street Fighter VI. This team-based tournament brought together the best players from around the world in spectacular matchups.
Team World, consisting of Big Bird, Nephew, Xiaohai, Zhen, and NoahTheProdigy, emerged victorious after defeating Team Asia in an intense grand final.
Meanwhile, Team France, captained by Mister Crimson, put in a strong showing, securing 3rd place in the competition. This team, made up of France's top talents, demonstrated that France remains a force to be reckoned with in these types of events.
